Physiology Serum sample is required. Test done by RIA, HPLC. Vitamin D plays an important role in calcium metabolism and calcification of bone and teeth.
Normal Range 16-65pgs/mL.
Interpretation Deficiency leads to Rickets in children and osteolmalacia in adults. Increased levels are due to renal failure, hyperparathyroidism.
