DENVER, May 6 Nurse-Family Partnership® (NFP), a national, evidence-based public health program that helps improve the lives of low-income, first-time mothers and their babies, today announced the burgeoning success of its viral Facebook campaign. In about one week, NFP has reached more than 3 million people - gaining over a million in a single day - with an application powered by Burns Marketing Communications.

With modest public brand awareness, despite its national presence and strong governmental support, NFP engaged Burns Marketing, a leading Colorado marketing firm, to develop a social media campaign to help spread NFP's message. The result is a custom Facebook application called "Flowers for Moms" that enables users simply to honor all the moms in their lives by sending them a virtual bouquet of flowers.

"Flowers for Moms" has virally gathered more than 3 million users and nearly 17,000 fans. Strategically published just prior to Mother's Day, it is expected that the user numbers will increase significantly approaching this Sunday, May 9. NFP is also seeing accelerated growth in "likes" on their Facebook page and visits to their website.

"We are thrilled by the overwhelming response to 'Flowers for Moms,'" says Lauren Baker, chief marketing and communications officer for NFP, "We challenged Burns Marketing to help us spread our organization's positive message by sharing with all moms how important and appreciated they are. The results on Facebook have far exceeded our expectations. We are excited to see how far this application reaches."
