| Smokers blow up £90,000 in a Lifetime
|

A study in the UK calculated the lifetime cost of smoking about 15 cigarettes a day and the amount calculated comes to a staggering £91,832.43 or approx . US $150,000 or Rs. 6,000.000 . This figure is worked out at 373,302 cigarettes smoked, or 18,665 packs.
The study was helped by Clerical Medical. It found that the average smoker has 15.24 cigarettes a day, costing them 106.68 pounds a week. In a year the smoker blows up 6,060 cigarettes at an average cost of £1,493.22. and collectively the English nation puffs up 72 BILLION cigs a year and blows a staggering 17 Billion pounds up in smoke. Interesting figures to a health economist!!

Originally grown in South and Central America, the deadly plant is used in many forms such as bidis, cigarettes, cigars, pipes, kreteks, clove cigarettes, snuff and smokeless cigars. According to WHO statistics, it has been projected that 50% of people who smoke today (approximately 650 million people) would be killed by tobacco.
