A recent study done on patients to unravel the effect of behavioral counseling on insomnia has reinforced that in just a couple of sessions of counseling that focuses on good sleep habits, patients can be relieved to find themselves sleeping well.

During sessions therapists aim to delve into intricate reasons which could cause sleeplessness in individuals suffering from insomnia. Therapists then go on to suggest tips to the individuals in their effort to find rest and to sleep well.

The research which spanned a period of 4 weeks found out that 75% of the patients that underwent studies showed remarkable improvement following therapy with counselors. More research is called for to prove if the effects of short term counseling are long lasting or not.

The results of the study were published in the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine. Previous research had undoubtedly shown a marked that behavioral counseling can harness great results for those suffering with chronic insomnia.
