The Communist Government has taken cognizance of the escalation in AIDS/HIV cases, and have begun to act fast to control the spread. To provide a facility to the multitudes of gay citizens, The Chinese government has opened up the first ever gay health clinic.

The clinic will be administered jointly by the Disease Prevention and Control centre and an HIV/AIDS volunteer group. This move by China is a response to the growing body of concern among HIV/AIDS organizations regarding the alarming growth of HIV cases in China. According to the organizations, though China has spent £20 million on AIDS treatment, there is scope for further enhancements in the combating strategies. Without any further preventive action, UNAIDS has warned that nearly 10 million people in china could stand to be affected by AIDS in less than five years.
