Diabetics press for additional government involvement in finding cures

With diabetes becoming a notorious disease, diabetics feel the government could do a lot more to curb the growth of the disease. To steer the focus of people in the ivory tower to pressing healthcare issues, especially Type 2 diabetes, juvenile diabetes, the diabetics have placed fifteen thousand syringes, a measure of the number of injections a juvenile diabetic may need to take in the first 10 years of life.

Almost one hundred children suffering type one diabetes assembled with their families, to make headway with parliamentarians to press for extensive research into possible cures for the condition.

An estimation by the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation chief executive Mike Wilson has shown that almost five Australians a day are diagnosed with the disease which costs the community atleast $6 billion a year.
