Multivitamin Supplements Keeps Teenagers Healthy

by Medindia Content Team on Dec 5 2006 9:51 PM

According to Lindsay Reaves of the University of Minnesota School of Public Health, teenagers who take multivitamin supplements on a daily basis tend to have a healthier lifestyle and diet.

The results published in the December Journal of American Dietetic Association were based on a survey of more than 2500 US high school seniors. They were analyzed for height, weight, behaviors and diet.

The aim of the experiment was to find out if children who did take multivitamin supplements were better off in terms of diet, exercise and other health habits than those who did not.

The study was part of the Child and Adolescent Trial for Cardiovascular Health (CATCH).
