An international homeopathy conference is taking place in this Taj Mahal city, attended by over 80 delegates from India and eight countries.

The four-day meet, which began Wednesday, will focus on critical areas like cancer, AIDS and "other difficult subjects which have proved a challenge to other (medical) systems", Alok Pareek, the organising secretary, told IANS.

The slogan of the conference is "Indian Homeopathy goes Global."

Radhey Shyam Pareek, the father figure of homeopathy in this part of the country, announced the launch of India's first postgraduate college for research and training.

"This will be at par with international centres with total focus on training and research," the director of the Pareek Foundation said.

Gotthard Behnisch of Germany presided over the inaugural session, which was addressed by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav.

Homeopaths from Russia, Germany and other European countries will share their experiences and also treat patients with critical problems.
