A Toddler Battles for Life

by Jyothsna on Feb 27 2007 1:07 PM

Three year old Ruby has been diagnosed with a brain tumor which is at the stem of her brain. A strange limp of the kid led her parents to approach the doctor who after routine tests revealed that the child was suffering from an inoperable brain tumor. The doctors have given her three to six months of life without treatment.

Currently the child is on a six week course of radiation which is expected to reduce the size of the tumor. According to the doctors, there is a 20 % chance of extending Ruby’s life through this treatment.

Ruby’s parents are very keen to take her to Disneyland Paris and are currently raising money for the same purpose as this tumor could lead her to blindness slowly.

Manchester's Christie Hospital is treating Ruby now and she has also been put on steroids which make the child a lot cranky.
