Endometriosis

Endometriosis is one of the most common gynecological disorders that can affect women in their reproductive age. It is a disease that can be difficult to detect and diagnose. Many women have felt frustrated because the diagnosis is not correctly established and they have wrongly been  labeled as either ‘Inflammatory pelvic disease’ or ‘irritable bowel syndrome’.

In endometriosis, the tissue that lines the inside of the uterus (Endometrium) is found outside the uterus, most commonly on the fallopian tubes, ovaries, outer surfaces of the uterus or intestines and sometimes on the surface lining of the pelvic cavity. Rarely, endometrial tissue may spread beyond the pelvic region like surgical scars, lungs, breast and other remote sites.
